Am I wrong to feed my dog/cat meat products if I am vegetarian?
I am a vegetarian and completely am against the treatment of animals whilst being slaughtered.
But would it be wrong if I had a dog/cat and fed it meat products? Isnt it the same thing?
It would be incredibly wrong not to, especially with a cat. A cat is an obligate carnivore.

The Associated Press-Petside.com Poll of pet owners on holiday gifts for their pets was conducted by GfK Roper Community Affairs & Corporate Communications from Oct. 13-17. It is based on landline and cellphone telephone interviews with a nationally archetypal random sample of 1,118 pet owners.Digits in the phone numbers dialed were generated randomly to reach households with unlisted and listed landline and cellphone numbers. Interviews were conducted in both English and Spanish.
As is done routinely in surveys, results were weighted, or adjusted, to effect that responses accurately reflect the population's makeup by factors such as age, sex, education and race. In addition, the weighting took into account patterns of phone use — landline only, room only and both types — by region.
No more than one time in 20 should chance variations in the sample cause the results to vacillate by more than plus or minus 3.6 percentage points from the answers that would be obtained if all pet owners in the U.S. were polled.
